Senior Canine Mobility Care
Senior pet-focused programs are designed to meet the needs of aging dogs to help them regain independence in their daily lives and experience the best quality of life with you and your family.
As dogs age, there are physical and mental changes that occur. Our programs are designed to address these changes, rebuild strength and mobility, reduce pain, reduce the risk of injury, and improve their mental well-being. We will use a holistic approach to focus on:
We want your dog to be comfortable and improve their confidence throughout the process- so we don't rush it. We take the time to build trust, focus on pain relief and slowly build up their strength, endurance, stability and mobility. |
Treatment Modalities and Methods
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles into specific anatomic points. This stimulates nearby nerves, immune cells and soft tissue structures that lead to local and distant physical and biochemical responses. These changes can help decrease inflammation, reduce pain, relieve muscle tension, promote relaxation and support healing. Targeted Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (tPEMF)
The electromagnetic fields generated in tPEMF trigger cellular responses that mediate inflammation and increase blood flow. This can reduce pain, decrease inflammation and improve tissue healing. Enrichment and Environmental Recommendations
One of the best ways you can help your pet is to ensure their home environment is safe, comfortable and appropriately engaging. Enrichment is important for ensuring your pet’s physical, behavioral and emotional needs are met. It’s also a great way to have fun and bond with your pet. Appropriate mental stimulation can help your pet relax, build confidence and feel better. |
Massage
Massage can improve circulation, reduce pain and help your pet relax. It can also be a valuable tool for you to incorporate into your pet’s daily care. Exercise
Appropriate exercise can improve strength, mobility and body awareness. In addition, exercise can be very beneficial to mental and emotional health. We start exercises during treatment sessions and then you will be guided through a home exercise plan to continue between visits. |
